Empowering Children with Quality Online Education to Achieve SDG4

Updated: Nov 15, 2023

The Edlodge Foundation is an NGO that has been working tirelessly to provide quality education to children through its online learning programs. With the tagline of "e-quality in learning," we are not only ensuring that children have access to education but are also contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) - Quality Education.

SDG4 emphasizes the need for inclusive and equitable quality education for all. This goal aims to ensure that children worldwide have access to learning opportunities that are relevant, effective, and empowering. It is among the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations in September 2015. This goal ensures that all girls and boys complete free primary and secondary schooling by 2030.

The Edlodge Foundation strongly aligns with this objective by leveraging technology to deliver quality education to children who may not have access to the epitome of educational excellence. We are currently able to successfully serve 14 states of India. Till now, our volunteers have taught over 3000 children within the span of just two years. We have volunteers from all over the globe with more than 6000 volunteers who have worked for this cause.

We are able to do so by creating an effective learning environment, providing them with smartphones, study materials and personalized tuition. The tutors provided by Edlodge Foundation are actually volunteers who themselves are school or college students with a zeal to work for the cause.

We are catering the targets of SDG4 such as

  • Universal primary and secondary education

  • Early childhood development and universal pre-primary education

  • Equal success to technical/ vocational and higher education

  • Gender equality and inclusion

Through the online learning platform, the Edlodge Foundation caters to children from various socio-economic backgrounds, including those in underprivileged areas. We started with helping the children in need from Meghalaya, a state in India and eventually expanded as we got enormous support from our fellow volunteers. By providing online education, we break down the barriers of location and affordability, enabling children to access high-quality educational resources regardless of their circumstances.

The foundation's commitment to quality education is reflected in the programs we offer. Our online courses cover a wide range of subjects, from basic literacy and numeracy skills to more advanced topics like science, social science and mathematics. By offering such a comprehensive curriculum, we ensure that children receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for the challenges of the future.

In addition to the curriculum, the Edlodge Foundation also focuses on improving learning outcomes. We employ volunteers who provide personalized support to students, addressing their individual needs and fostering a conducive learning environment. This attention to individual learning needs enhances the quality of education delivered, contributing to SDG4's vision of holistic and transformative education.

Moreover, we actively promote inclusivity by reaching out to marginalized and disadvantaged communities. By specifically targeting children who are at risk of being left behind, we help bridge the education gap and ensure that no child is deprived of the opportunity to learn. This inclusivity directly aligns with SDG4's commitment to leaving no one behind and ensuring equal access to education for all.

Through the focus on quality education and inclusive practices, the Edlodge Foundation provides a tangible solution to tackling SDG4. By harnessing technology and leveraging online platforms effectively, we empower children to learn and thrive, irrespective of their social and economic background.
