Ghosts of New Year's Vows

By Vanni Bhardwaj

In the moon's pale glow, as the new year dawns,

A vow is sworn, in whispers and yawns.

Through cobweb corridors of fleeting time,

A pledge proclaimed in the midnight chime.

A quest embarked upon, the self to refine,

Yet by the year's end, resolutions decline.

Shadows dance in the candle's flicker,

The oath fades and memories grow sicker.

In the sands of time, where echoes persist,

Ghostly vows linger, memories dismissed.

A pledge once spoken, now a phantom unheard,

As the cycle goes on, the essence inferred.
