A bizarre encounter.... Or as how I would describe it. A peculiar small detail, but a strange

one. Today, I saw an auto-rickshaw back my way home from the airport. It isn’t very

strange to find an auto-rickshaw in the streets of Delhi, but what I found strange was the

poster he had on the back!

It was an expensive car, “a Mercedes Benz”. I am quite sure that car costs about 100 times

the rickshaw; this made me wonder, “What was he even thinking putting that poster there?

He seems to be in no condition to even think about the car, how strange”. I got home with

this peculiar curiosity of his thought process to even be that ambitious. It was a strange

I don’t usually bother to think about these petty things but it bugged me this time.

Maybe because I was in a strange mood when this happened or maybe it was something else. I found it quite amusing and unsettling at the same time. I also found myself wondering if there was something more to this auto-rickshaw driver’s life than what he was showing me. Maybe he was living a different life; maybe he had dreams and aspirations beyond just driving his rickshaw around the city all day long. It made me think about everyone else whom he might have affected. Everyone else who must have seen that poster on his back; imagine how much money he could have earned by putting it on his vehicle. I wonder if he did that for the money or just because it was a nice car. We tend to judge people by their appearances; this auto-rickshaw driver didn’t look like someone who would have been able to afford such an expensive car, so I assumed he must be struggling financially. In reality though, maybe he had a different kind of richness, which was beyond my view. Maybe he was doing something else with his life that wasn't visible to me as just a passer-by.
